January is sale time with all of the major retailers desperately trying to compensate for consumers lack of funds after Christmas. As such, it’s typically a great time to buy a new TV and January 2012 is proving to be no exception. We’ve picked out the hottest TV deals and found the best prices to help save you time and money.
1) Toshiba 40TL868B
What we like – 40″ Full HD 3d, Smart Enabled, LED Backlit, Under £400 price is astonishing, Freeview HD Tuner, What Hi-Fi Award winner
Best deal – View Deal at Ebuyer.com
Details – The Toshiba 40TL868B is without a doubt the best value 3D TV available at the time of writing this post. In fact, even without the 3D functionality it would represent good value. When you consider that many online retailers are still selling this TV for almost £700 you soon realise just how good the above deal is and you’ll struggle to find another TV that offers so much at this price (we’ve tried!).
Importantly, the 3d produced by this TV is full HD 3d, something that sub £600 3D TV’s rarely manage. Even if you have no plans to use the 3d functionality initially its worthwhile buying a TV that gives you this option as it’s likely that the number of 3D broadcasts will increase considerably over the next couple of years. Combine this with the built in Freeview HD receiver and you’ve got a TV that’s equipped with all of the latest essential technology.
..and if you’re still not convinced the Toshiba 40TL868B is a What Hi-Fi five star award winner.

3) Samsung UE32D5000
What we like – LED Backlit, Great picture quality at this price, 4 x HDMI, thin and compact
Best deal – View Deal at Currys.co.uk
Details – If you’re looking for a TV for a bedroom or small lounge the UE32D5000 represents fantastic value for money and can currently be purchased for under £330. It doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles found on the more expensive models but it does produce lovely images from it’s 100HZ full HD panel. It’s a better choice than the unknown supermarket brands you’ll typically find at this price point.
